Shifts available: 
9:00am 1:30pm Tuesday & Thursday; 8:15am - 12:00pm Saturday - once a month
4:15pm - 8:15pm Tuesday & Thursday
6:00pm - 8:15pm Monday & Wednesday; 8:15am - 12:00pm Saturday - once a month
(There are opportunities to pick up additional shifts subbing.)

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Playstation Coordinator, this position is responsible for care and safety of children from birth to 8 years of age.

Qualifications:
Required Education, Certifications, Experience:
    1. At least 16 years old
Required Within a Specific Time Frame:
    1. Within 3 months of hire: 12 hours of basic childcare training through Childcare Resource and Referral
    2. Within 6 months of hire: First Aid Certification
    3. Within 6 months of hire: CPR/AED Certification for Adult, Child, and Infant
    4. Within 1 year of hire: Listen First training

Position Specific Competencies:
1. Participates in program activities as directed by the Playstation Lead Staff
2. Cares for children ages birth to 9 years in a developmentally appropriate manner
3. Assists in maintaining an atmosphere in which appropriate discipline practices are modeled and used
4. Maintains and enforces illness policy for children
5. Greets and welcomes all parents, upon their return informs them in a positive manner how their child did during their stay in the
    Playstation
6. Assists in presenting an orderly atmosphere
7. Informs the Playstation Lead Staff when equipment and supplies are needed

Other:
1. Is on time and present for scheduled shift; when unable to work scheduled shift – informs supervisor per policy and finds own
    replacement as needed
2. Attends mandatory departmental meetings and training sessions as required
3. Maintains a neat and clean work area, free of hazards
4. Follows YMCA policies and departmental procedures
5. Follows all emergency and safety procedures
6. Wears name tag at all times
7. Other duties upon request by immediate supervisor

Blood Exposure:
Category 2: This position occasionally performs duties that result in exposure to "Fluids at Risk for Transmission" or this person may render some medical assistance as part of their position in an emergency on limited occasions. Bloodborne Pathogens training is required but the Hepatitis B vaccination will not be offered.
